Couples who choose to achieve pregnancy by combining donor eggs with in vitro fertilization are making the choice to move forward with their dreams of building a family. At the Nevada Center for Reproductive Medicine, we believe that every couple should have a chance to have a baby. That is why we have dedicated our practice to providing those who are facing fertility challenges with additional treatment options.
Our clinic strives to make fertility treatment available to anyone who needs it. That is why we make every effort to keep our prices affordable, while keeping our success rates and availability of egg donors high. This level of commitment has attracted a national and international patient base to our practice.
The first step in the egg donation and in vitro fertilization (IVF) process is to contact our Reno center, just south of picturesque Lake Tahoe, to speak with one of our fertility specialists. All of our potential donor egg recipients must undergo medical testing so we can be sure that you are a good candidate for the embryo transfer and that the IVF process is the right fertility treatment for you.
Our clinic rigorously screens thousands of young women who are potential egg donors; these women undergo medical and psychological testing to ensure that donor eggs are as healthy as possible. Recipients can browse our database of screened donors to select the one that they feel most comfortable with. Some information about the donor’s physical and personality traits are available to guide you in making your decision.
Once you have selected an egg donor, the egg retrieval, fertilization, and transfer process will begin.
The egg donor and recipient’s menstrual cycles are synced up to prepare for the egg donation and transfer process.
The recipient is put on estrogen replacement therapy to ensure the uterus is in ideal condition to receive the fertilized embryo.
When it is time for harvesting, the donor will be put under general anesthesia while our fertility specialists retrieve the eggs.
A semen sample from the recipient’s partner will be taken and used to fertilize the donor eggs via in vitro fertilization. Following IVF, the embryos will remain at our Reno lab for a few days before they are transferred to the recipient.
When the embryos are ready to be transferred, the recipient will come into our practice for the procedure. Our physicians may transfer up to two embryos to increase the chances of success.
In order to maintain an ideal environment in the uterus, the recipient will continue hormone therapy for a few weeks after the embryo transfer procedure.
